Yes, First Special Service Force. A very cool unit to portrait, lots of interesting Gear to mix.
Location is in Austria, looks quite similar to the Maritime Alps where the FSSF was active.

By the way, it is not a scabbard for the M3 Knife, it is the scabbard for the V42 Knife (The special FSSF stiletto).
There are no knifes allowed while playing and i forgot to put the V42 back in the scabbard
for the pictures

1. Anklets are in my cupboard - I am meant to be working so just threw it on
2. Yes that's wool (with another pair of bloody trousers on under the scratchy buggers!
3. I have a South Staffs badge (just needs the Hessian bit), this is my 'SAS' glider regiment' badge for Gulch
4. My haircut is already booked

now back to the work. :(

Sounds like you have it in hand. :good:

I'll try to remember to bring a bit of holland cloth for you to FSA on the 9th.

Instead of trousers underneath, try long-johns. That's what I used to use before I got used to the wool.

it's a stop gap, or stop wool, measure.

Though typing my essay in Wool trousers and shirt and suspenders is rather interesting.

Holland cloth = much appreciated. :good:

Have any of the wool sensitive types tried getting a tailor to line jackets and trews with a less dermatologically controversial fabric? Obviously if you go down that route it should be a Burberry check or something equally blingtastic.

The thought has crossed my mind actually.

Though it's not just the wool, it's the GLASS that they weave into it that's the problem.

I find a pair of cheap PJ bottoms work well underneath wool pants. No scratching and not adding an extra thermal layer of clothing :good:

Yup shaving works.

It was common for best bd to be shaved for 'walking out' to make it smarter.

I used to shave my beret as a soldier to take the fuzz off it for parades and the like.

Best way to make serge really comfy is to *use it*, in not much time at all it gets worn smooth inside.

The Doughboys stuff is nearly all here. And that haversack is bloody heavy with a tent in it (I know it isn't meant to go in it, but I thought I'd see if it could fit in)

To come = Leather helmet strap, Helmet Netting, Wool shirt, 82nd Patch, First Aid Pouch (and own M1 Garand)
